Wood rot and osmosis can be clearly visualized using thermography. With wood rot, water penetrates the wood, while with osmosis, water seeps through the polyester layer to form small blisters. As a result, the polyester layers can eventually separate.
By utilizing the fact that water is thermally slow, we can use thermography to pinpoint exactly which areas are affected. Early-stage damage is often easy to repair.
We require a dry and preferably warm day, ensuring a good temperature difference between the water and the air. After hoisting your ship, the inspection takes approximately one hour before your ship can return to the water.
You can receive a group discount, for example on hoisting days with your club or if you manage a fleet.
Thermography is also suitable for finding faults in your engine. Think of your intake and exhaust systems, engine cooling, alternator, belts and pulleys, etc.
It is possible to clearly visualize whether the cooling system has sufficient flow and where any blockages are located.

In addition to thermography, van der Burg- Maritiem is also STIPEL NEN3140 & NEN3840 IV/WV certified.
Your electrical installation can be inspected according to NPR 8040-1. Following this, you will receive a comprehensive report on your onboard network. This provides you with strong evidence of the safety of your installation.
Most findings and/or points of attention can be resolved immediately.
The performance of your solar panels is also quickly visualized using thermography. Most panels are partially connected in series, meaning that a single defective cell can drastically reduce the output of an entire panel. This cell will have more resistance and therefore heat up slightly.
The health of your batteries can also be tested. This is particularly recommended for electrically powered vessels with larger battery packs. In combination with a discharge test (where we measure the functional capacity of the pack), this is a good way to get a complete picture of the health of your battery pack.
